What will it cost you?

The fees are charged according to set calendar period, depending on whether you are staying for a full academic year or a single semester. So, there are two charge rates; one for a full academic year and another for a single semester only. The halls and apartments each set their own accommodation dates.

The prices will vary between halls and apartments but you can expect to pay between $8,000 and about $13,000 for a single standard bedroom, at a halls of residence for a full academic year.

For a self-catered single bedroom apartment, you can expect to pay between $8,500 and $12,100 for a full academic year.

The tables below show you an example of the pricing for the Halls of Residence and an apartment, for a full academic year and a single semester.

Our room fees are calculated for the full period of a residential contract so that you know exactly how much you need to pay regardless of when you move in or move out. Our rooms are only available to students of the University and cannot be sold for short-term stays to anyone else.

Payment options
You can pay your fees in full at the beginning of your contract period. If you're staying with us for the full academic year, you can pay in two instalments, with half of the total being paid at the start of each semester. Payment must be receipted at your residence before you can move in.

Please note that we place a cash limit of $250. This is for your safety and the safety of our staff. We encourage you to make any large payments at any BNZ branch. There are two located on Queen Street, in the CBD. You'll need the following details:

Fortnightly payments
You can also pay by fortnightly instalments. Note that this is not a short-term rental fee but an instalment of the total amount due. We will need you to confirm that these payments have been set up before you can take up residency.

If you are paying by credit card, you will need to complete the Credit Card Authority Form. You will need to provide a copy of the completed form before you can move in.
