Is it possible to move into residence early?

For students who have been offered accommodation starting in February:

Once your place has been confirmed, you are welcome to contact your Residential team to inquire about the possibility of moving into your residence early - but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible for all residences.

In the instance where you are not able to move into your residence early, we may be able to assist you with summer accommodation in an alternative residence. For more information see Summer Accommodation.

For students who have been offered accommodation starting in Semester Two:

Because our semester one residents move out a day before our semester two residential period starts, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to move into your residence early. We can assist you with finding temporary accommodation to ensure you have a place to stay before you move into your semester residence.

What happens if I want to move out early?

When you accept your place in residence, you are agreeing to live in residence for the full residential period stated on your residential agreement, and you will be charged for the full period stated, regardless of if you choose to move out a few days earlier.

If you are thinking about leaving before the end of your residential agreement, you will need to discuss this with your Resident Manager as there may be penalties for breaking your agreement early.
