Carlaw Park Student Village

Opened in February 2014, Carlaw Park Student Village is the University's newest purpose built student accommodation for new and returning undergraduate (not school leaver), undergraduate and postgraduate students.

About the residence

Located adjacent to the Auckland Domain (the city's oldest park and home to the War Memorial Museum) and only a short walk from the Owen G. Glenn Building, Carlaw Park Student Village is home to 697 residents in a combination of two, three and four bedroom apartments.

The accommodation team are there to support you during your stay and are available on-site during office hours. Their team of Resident Advisors and one Area Officer also live on-site.

This residence offers a special discounted rate for a Feb'16/Feb'17 or Jul'16/Jul'17 residential period in a single room.

You'll stay in a comfortably furnished single bedroom which is part of a shared 3 or 4 bedroom apartment.

There are also 20 apartments (2 bedrooom and a limited number of 3 bedroom) allocated to students with small families (up to two adults and up to three children).

You will need to provide your own towels and bedding linen, however you can purchase a linen pack prior to arrival through the online accommodation shop.

Each room has access to the University's WiFi network.

Each apartment is furnished with a galley style kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, oven and kettle. A basic kitchen pack is provided with all kitchen utensils and crockery.

A large communal kitchen and BBQ is also available to residents for group events.

Each apartment has a furnished lounge room, and residents can also enjoy use of the communal spaces which include a lounge area, games room, and study space.

Each resident has a membership to the University's Recreation Center. This is a 10 minute walk away.

The Auckland Domain is right on your doorstep and the 75 hectares of landscape park features sports fields, a cricket pavilion, duck ponds, sculptures, two beautiful glass houses which form the Wintergarden, and is also home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum.






Your fees cover a number of services that you do not have to pay additional for, including

  • Utilities such as water and electricity.
  • Grounds, building and facilities maintenance and management.
  • Broadband internet access.
  • Lockable bike shed.

Other services are available if you wish to use them. These are at your own expense

  • User-pays laundry room.
  • Limited car parks available.
